Polyrey monitors its solid, liquid and gas waste and limits noise in order to reduce the environmental impact of its activity:
Water pollution:
Water pollution is monitored on a daily basis. Polyrey’s achievements throughout the monitoring process (quantity, temperature, pH…) are higher than DRIRE* requirements. ver the last 10 years, the release of nitrogen has been reduced by a factor of 19 and the phenolic index by a factor of 24.
Air pollution:
In 1997 Polyrey installed a treatment plant for volatile organic compounds where dust is filtered, stored in silos and burned to produce energy.
Noise pollution:
The level of noise has been reduced by the introduction of noise dampening machine housings as well as external noise reduction measures.
Recycling:
Recycling has been standard practice for a number of years in all areas. 80% of waste products are either converted into energy or recycled by specialised companies: the re-use of pallets, recycling of paper, cardboard and plastic, resale of scrap metal…
